Review

Looking forward to entering my first adventure race next year, I decided to try out a pair of shoes from this relatively new category of footware. The Salomon TechAmphibian didn't let me down.

Combining a mid-volume last with an extremely well-ventilated mesh upper and drainage holes, this water shoe dried out quicker than some sandals I've owned. And if I want a more sandal-type feel, the heel is convertable and folds down, making for easy-on, easy-off access.

The TechAmphibians are comfortable for some light dayhiking, and I've even jogged in them a bit. So far, they're the perfect boat shoe. Lightweight, quick-drying, and enough protection to keep the dangerous elements out. The sole is nice and grippy, and the lacing system is quick and easy to adjust with one hand.

I'll post an update in about a month when I've had them a little longer.
