Contribute to EtE

'Panther Crossing' sign in Florida

Being a new site trying to gain exposure on the web is difficult, and gaining the respect of our readers is even harder. Because of that, we'll be playing it safe for the foreseeable future. What does that mean for someone that wants to contribute? It means that you're going to have to work pretty hard to produce something that we can't pass up.

We're looking for multitalented writers and photographers, or should we say writer/photographers, because we will not accept a story or article without photos, and verse visa. EtE is a visually engaging site, with photos backing up our words on every page, and the two go hand in hand. Without the writing, we'd be just another photo album, and without the photos, we'd be just another blog. We encourage teams to work on projects together, using individual strengths to deliver a solid package.

Our intentions are to form relationships with developing writers and photographers that enhance our website, while rewarding contributors with exposure. Browsing various discussion boards and photo galleries, it's obvious that there is a lot of talent out there. We encourage those people with the amazing trip reports and the mind-blowing photos to contact us, because we'd like to share that talent with a larger audience.

Guidelines

A Snowy, Windy Trainyard

You don't have to hike the tracks, swim with sharks, or jump through any other kind of hoops to submit something to us. Just make sure you've got the following:

  • 500-2000 words about a place you've visited on the east coast (see map on your left!)
  • 6-10 photos in jpeg format, minimum 640 x 480 pixels
  • Written consent/permission to use the above materials

Don't worry about spelling, that's what we have editors for!
