About EtE

Welcome to Explore the East, the only site built with East Coast hikers, riders, and paddlers in mind. Our website was created with one goal in mind: to inspire. To inspire the minds of those that want to get out of their backyard, around the next bend, and over the next hill.

To fuel that inspiration, we use an effective combination of words and photos to give our visitors the best representation of our adventures. Explore the East's pages are the fruit of a half-dozen part time volunteers, as well as many other contributors. Originally conceived in 2002, our site has been updated every week since January 2003.

In 2006, we hope to add more feature stories to our pages, as well as creative writing from outside people that have something to share.

Nature isn't the only setting for adventure, and we're not afraid to switch it up every now and then. Keep an eye out in the near future for a city guide to urban adventures. You wouldn't believe what you can ride or paddle within ten miles of your favorite metropolis.
